Wearing glass bangles

Glass bangles are worn in larger numbers — usually a dozen or more per hand. Green is traditional for Sawan and Teej, red for brides and Karwa Chauth, and mixed colours for Navratri and Holi.

Glass is not stretchy, so the size has to be right. To put them on, bring your thumb and little finger together, slide the bangle over the knuckles slowly, and use a little soap or lotion if needed.
